    Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery (12-Hour Nights)

    Contract | Full-Time | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts | Expected 48 hours/week | Overtime may be available after 48 hours worked in a week

    Key Responsibilities
    • Manage and deliver care for high-acuity OB patients including hypertension, magnesium administration, preterm labor, inductions, epidurals, vaginal deliveries, and C-sections in a unit with an approximately 33% C-section rate
    • Triage OB patients and circulate in the OR as needed; perform cervical checks and read/interpret fetal monitoring strips
    • Provide transition care for post-vaginal birth and C-section patients (mother and baby), including full recovery of the birthing patient; serve as a second set of hands to receive and recover normal newborns as needed
    • Care for antepartum patients including PROM, multiple births, robust antepartum cases, and post-partum hemorrhage management
    • Adhere to AWHONN patient ratio guidelines: 1:1 active labor, 1:2 non-active laboring, and 1:2–3 antepartum dependent on acuity
    • Float within the unit to antepartum and occasionally to postpartum (4th floor) based on need and within scope of experience
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
    • BLS certification required
    • NRP certification required
    • Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring (AWHONN) certification required
    • EPIC EMR experience required
    • Minimum 2 years of L&D experience required; 5+ years preferred; first-time travelers considered on a case-by-case basis
    • Previous travel nursing experience preferred for candidates with fewer than 5 years of experience
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with high-risk OB patient populations including insulin drips, magnesium administration, and robust antepartum care
    • Familiarity with Alaris CareFusion IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, Centricity/Qx fetal surveillance monitors, and CAD Solaris epidural pumps
    • Comfort operating in a high-volume unit supporting up to approximately 300 deliveries per month
    • Experience with every-other-weekend rotation scheduling and flexible scheduling within 6-week increments
