    Job Title

    Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery (Break Nurse) | Nights

    Location

    Tacoma, WA | Acute Care

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Nights | 4 x 10-hour shifts per week (48 hours per week as a Break Nurse) | Weekend rotation required

    Key Responsibilities
    • Serve as a dedicated Break Nurse on a high-volume Labor and Delivery unit performing up to 300 deliveries per month
    • Provide labor management and delivery support for high-acuity OB patients including hypertension, preterm labor, post-partum hemorrhage, multiple births, and C-sections
    • Triage OB patients and circulate in the OR as needed
    • Read and interpret fetal monitoring strips; perform cervical checks and assist with inductions and epidural management
    • Serve as a second set of hands to receive and recover normal newborns as needed, including APGAR scoring
    • Float within the unit to antepartum and occasionally postpartum as needed, within scope and experience
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
    • Required certifications: BLS, NRP, and Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring (AWHONN)
    • EPIC EMR experience required
    • Minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery RN experience; 5+ years preferred; prior travel experience considered in lieu of additional years
    • Demonstrated high-acuity L&D experience including labor management, high-risk OB patients, and OR circulation
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with Alaris CareFusion IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, and Centricity/Qx fetal surveillance systems
    • Familiarity with AWHONN patient ratio guidelines and high-acuity antepartum care
    • Experience in a Level II Trauma Center or Level IV NICU-supported environment
    • Previous travel nursing experience in a Labor and Delivery setting
