    Job Title

    Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery (12-Hour Nights)

    Location

    Tacoma, WA | Acute Care – Labor and Delivery (Level II Trauma Center, Level IV NICU)

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Full-Time | Night Shift (19:00–07:30) | 48 hours per week

    Key Responsibilities
    • Manage and deliver care for high-acuity OB patients including hypertension, preterm labor, C-sections, inductions, PROM, multiple births, and postpartum hemorrhage
    • Triage OB patients and perform cervical checks; read and interpret fetal monitoring strips
    • Circulate in the OR and support full recovery of birthing patient and newborn as needed, including APGAR scoring
    • Administer and monitor Magnesium and other high-risk medications per protocol
    • Maintain patient ratios per AWHONN guidelines (1:1 active labor, 1:2 non-active labor, 1:2–3 antepartum dependent on acuity)
    • Document accurately using EPIC EMR; operate unit equipment including Alaris CareFusion IV pumps, Pyxis, and Centricity/Qx fetal surveillance monitors
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
    • BLS certification required
    • NRP certification required
    • Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring (AWHONN) certification required
    • Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery RN experience required; 5+ years preferred; previous travel experience considered in lieu of additional years
    • EPIC EMR experience required
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with high-volume delivery units (up to 300 deliveries per month)
    • Familiarity with Alaris CareFusion IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, CAD Solaris epidural pumps, and Panda Warmers
    • Prior travel nursing experience in Labor and Delivery
    • Comfort floating to antepartum and postpartum units within scope of practice
