Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to Labor and Delivery patients in a high-risk regional perinatal center environment averaging 10+ births per day
- Manage patient care from active labor through 2-hour recovery prior to transfer to the postpartum unit
- Work within a unit comprising 21 labor beds, 2 triage beds, 2 same-day admit beds, 3 OR suites, and a 4-bed PACU
- Maintain a target nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2 depending on assignment
- Support OR circulating duties as needed
- Adhere to unit dress code; scrubs are provided on-unit via scrub machine
Required Qualifications
- Active and unencumbered RN license in the state of New York
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required
- Minimum 1–2 years of Labor and Delivery RN experience
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility may be eligible for a local rate; please inquire for details
Preferred Experience / Skills
- 3 or more years of Labor and Delivery RN experience
- OR circulating experience strongly preferred
- Experience with EPIC electronic health records
