    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide comprehensive nursing care to obstetric patients throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and the immediate postpartum period, including fetal monitoring, newborn care, and emergency response
    • Perform thorough patient assessments, develop individualized plans of care, and evaluate nursing interventions and patient responses
    • Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately per provider orders and policy; recognize and respond to changes in patient condition
    • Collaborate with providers, neonatal teams, and interdisciplinary staff to coordinate care and ensure safe outcomes for both mother and newborn
    • Accurately and timely document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic health record
    • Provide patient and family education related to care, medications, and discharge needs; deliver culturally responsive, patient-centered care. On-call may be required.
    Required Qualifications
    • Associate's degree or higher in Nursing from an accredited program
    • Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the State of Alaska or another U.S. state; must have applied for an Alaska nursing license at or prior to time of hire
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association required at time of hire
    • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required (experienced nurses must provide evidence of current certifications at time of hire; new graduates and nurses new to the specialty must obtain all required certifications within six months of hire)
    • High-Risk Competency validation required within 3 months of hire and annually thereafter
    • Clinical competency assessment required within 3 months of hire and every 3 years thereafter
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Prior experience in Labor and Delivery or a related obstetric specialty
    • Experience with high-risk obstetric patients and complex medical equipment used in Labor and Delivery settings
    • Proficiency with electronic health record systems in a clinical environment
    • Demonstrated ability to exercise independent nursing judgment and critical thinking in a fast-paced setting
