Key Responsibilities
- Provide unit-based leadership working collaboratively with the Nurse Manager, Director, Physicians, and staff to ensure effective unit operations
- Supervise and direct the activities of various levels of assigned nursing and ancillary personnel using professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgment
- Ensure all patients on the unit receive cost-effective, professional care resulting in positive outcomes and high patient satisfaction
- Maintain the highest level of patient safety and assess opportunities to improve the quality of the patient experience
- Serve in a Charge Nurse capacity as required; no on-call obligations
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor
- ACLS (AHA or ARC) certification required
- NRP (AHA or ARC) certification required
- AWHONN Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) certification completed within the last 2 years required
- Minimum 5 years of Labor and Delivery clinical experience
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory or Charge Nurse experience required
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records required
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or equivalent combination of education and related experience required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Master's Degree in Nursing or related field
- Clinical specialty and/or nursing administration certification
- Demonstrated ability to lead interdisciplinary teams in a high-acuity Labor and Delivery environment
