    Job Title

    Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery

    Location

    San Luis Obispo, CA | Acute Care

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM) | Every Other Weekend Required

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care in a Labor and Delivery and Postpartum unit, floating between both as needed
    • Circulate for C-sections — experience with this is required
    • Care for patients 34 weeks and above, including high-risk deliveries, with close attention to individualized birth plans
    • Operate fetal monitoring systems (Fetal Link) and document care using Cerner EMR
    • Follow AWHONN staffing and care guidelines for patient ratios
    • Collaborate with OB technicians, charge nurses, and on-call OB/Neonatology staff to ensure safe patient outcomes
    Required Qualifications
    • Active RN license with a minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery and Postpartum
    • Experience in both L&D and Postpartum settings — candidates must be able to float between both units
    • Must be able to circulate for C-sections
    • Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN
    • Proficiency with Cerner EMR
    • No first-time travelers — prior travel nursing experience is required
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Previous travel nursing experience strongly preferred
    • Familiarity with Fetal Link fetal monitoring systems
    • Experience caring for high-risk obstetric patients and supporting patient-centered birth plans
