Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Full-Time | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite | Projected Start: 08/31/2026 | 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients in a Labor and Delivery setting.
- Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice.
- Administer medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications administered, and care provided accurately and thoroughly.
- Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers; identify issues and connect with appropriate resources.
- Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers as needed to effectively manage clinical situations.
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in the state of Texas or a compact state license.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Labor and Delivery or a related perinatal nursing specialty.
- Current certification in fetal monitoring from one of the following: AWHONN Intermediate FHM or NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM).
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association only).
- Current NRP certification.
- Current ACLS certification (American Heart Association only).
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Completion of a Perinatal RN Residency program or recent active practice in a perinatal setting.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex, long-range clinical care goals in a perinatal environment.
