    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients in a Labor and Delivery setting.
    • Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice.
    • Administer medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
    • Document patient history, symptoms, medications administered, and care provided accurately and thoroughly.
    • Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers; identify issues and connect with appropriate resources.
    • Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers as needed to effectively manage clinical situations.
    Required Qualifications
    • Active RN license in the state of Texas or a compact state license.
    • Minimum 1 year of experience in Labor and Delivery or a related perinatal nursing specialty.
    • Current certification in fetal monitoring from one of the following: AWHONN Intermediate FHM or NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM).
    • Current BLS certification (American Heart Association only).
    • Current NRP certification.
    • Current ACLS certification (American Heart Association only).
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
    • Completion of a Perinatal RN Residency program or recent active practice in a perinatal setting.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, long-range clinical care goals in a perinatal environment.
