Contract | 36–48 hours per week | Rotating shifts (primarily days with rotation to evenings and nights as needed) | Every other weekend required | Shift times rotate between 7:00am–7:30pm, 11:00am–11:30pm, and 7:00pm–7:30am | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to patients in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Newborn Nursery settings within a 25-bed unit that includes ORs, recovery rooms, and antepartum/nursery rooms
- Manage and monitor patients in active labor, including those on Magnesium drips or epidurals, maintaining a 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio for high-acuity cases
- Care for postpartum patients at a 1:3–4 nurse-to-patient ratio and support evaluation patients at a 1:2–3 ratio
- Perform circulating duties in the OR as required within the unit
- Provide newborn care and assessments as part of integrated Labor & Delivery and Postpartum responsibilities
- Accurately document all patient care activities using EPIC EMR
Required Qualifications
- Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Minimum of 3 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience
- Active BLS certification
- Active NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
- Active EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) certification (required every 2 years for L&D)
- Proficiency in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, OR circulating, and newborn care
Preferred Experience / Skills
- AHA ACLS certification
- Prior experience with EPIC EMR charting system
