Key Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members in caring for Labor & Delivery patients
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies, procedures, standards of care, and State laws/practice act
- Develop, initiate, and execute individualized patient plans of care as prescribed by physician and/or hospital policy, including patient and family instruction
- Document patient care according to established standards of care
- Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities, which may include shared governance
- Apply critical thinking regarding patient safety and experience, escalating concerns through the appropriate chain of command
Required Qualifications
- Current Illinois RN License
- CPR certification required
- ACLS certification required
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program; education verification required
- High-risk Labor & Delivery experience at a Level 1 Trauma Center is required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience providing clinical expertise and guidance across units and departments in support of longitudinal patient care plans
- Familiarity with shared governance models and performance improvement initiatives
