    Job Title

    Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery (12-Hour Days)

    Puyallup, WA | Acute Care

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Full-Time | Days | 12-Hour Shifts (0700–1900) | Rotating Weekends

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct nursing care to Labor and Delivery patients including active labor, antepartum, and post-labor patients in a Level II Perinatal Center (32 weeks and above)
    • Perform cervical exams, fetal monitoring, amnio infusion, epidural assistance, IV management, and Pitocin administration
    • Deliver couplet care for stable mother and baby pairs, including basic breastfeeding support during the initial post-partum period
    • Manage patients with hypertension, magnesium administration, and medication management for substance use, including a high volume of low-risk patients requiring intermittent monitoring
    • Operate unit technology including EPIC Stork, GE Centricity EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing system
    • Float between Labor and Delivery and Mother/Baby units as needed, within areas of demonstrated competency
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of Washington
    • BLS certification required
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
    • Fetal monitoring certification required (AWHONN or Relia's module)
    • Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience
    • Pyxis medication dispensing experience required
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with couplet care and post-partum nursing beyond the transition period
    • Familiarity with HUGS Security system
    • Experience in a high-volume Labor and Delivery setting (175–200 deliveries per month)
