Key Responsibilities
- Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients, documenting responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments.
- Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients, observes physiological manifestations, and intervenes when necessary.
- Administers medications as prescribed; initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products.
- Assists physicians in patient examinations and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments.
- Interacts with patients and families to share care plans during hospitalization and at time of discharge, and informs them of hospital procedures.
- Delegates tasks to support staff and makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certificate.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Advanced Provider or NRP Instructor certification.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited program.
- Strong ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques effectively.
- Ability to respond effectively to the cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.
