Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery

Contract | Night Shift | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a 14-bed Labor and Delivery unit, including labor support, triage, and postpartum couplet care following AWHONN staffing standards
- Circulate and recover patients for cesarean sections in one of two dedicated OR suites on the unit
- Attend deliveries and complete newborn stabilization, physical assessment, and cares within the first two hours of birth
- Titrate drips including Pitocin protocol, Magnesium protocol, and occasional insulin drips per facility protocols
- Monitor and care for patients with complex diagnoses including hypertension requiring magnesium, TOLACs, gestational diabetes, and antepartum conditions in a diverse patient population
- Float to other Labor and Delivery or Mother Baby units at regional sites within the same health system as needed for full shifts
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license valid for practice in Idaho
- Minimum of 3 years of Labor and Delivery experience
- Mother Baby experience required; minimum 1 year preferred
- Required certifications: NRP, BLS, ACLS, and S.T.A.B.L.E.
- Must have experience attending deliveries, circulating for C-sections, performing triage, and providing postpartum couplet care
- Must have experience with magnesium administration and titration
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Charge nurse experience in a Labor and Delivery setting
- Familiarity with Centricity EFM system and EPIC
- Experience caring for antepartum patients and high-acuity obstetric diagnoses
