Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Full-Time
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care for Labor and Delivery patients including deliveries, circulating C-sections, antepartum patients, and initial newborn assessments.
- Utilize the nursing process — assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation — for assigned patients in accordance with ANA Scope and Standards of Practice.
- Administer medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness.
- Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and thoroughly.
- Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identify issues and connect with appropriate resources.
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in state of employment or valid compact license.
- BLS certification required.
- Current NRP certification required.
- Current ACLS certification required.
- Current certification required from one of the following: AWHONN Intermediate FHM, AWHONN Intermediate FHM Instructor, AWHONN Advanced FHM Instructor, AWHONN Instructor Trainer, or NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM).
- Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery nursing experience.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Experience in a Perinatal setting or completion of a Perinatal RN Residency program.
- Familiarity with AWHONN nurse-to-patient ratio standards across induction, antepartum, triage, and immediate postpartum care settings.
