Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care across the antepartum, intrapartum, immediate postpartum, and neonatal phases of obstetrical care utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and facility policies
- Demonstrate critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership in anticipating and planning for the safe delivery of patient care
- Maintain clinical competencies through ongoing continuing education
- Delegate patient care priorities commensurate with the education and experience of available staff
- Provide direction and supervision of assigned personnel delivering patient care
- Float to other units as facility needs require
Required Qualifications
- Active RN licensure (Florida license or eligibility required; AHCA compliance required for Florida placements)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery, postpartum, nursery, and/or Mother/Baby care
- Minimum 2 years of prior travel nursing experience
- ACLS certification required
- BLS certification required
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
- PALS certification required (may be obtained within 30 days of start if not currently held)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- AWHONN certification preferred; opportunity to complete onsite if not yet obtained
- Experience floating across multiple obstetrical or women's health units
- Familiarity with LDRP combined-care models
