Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care needs in a Labor and Delivery setting
- Document patient care in the healthcare record according to established standards
- Direct and delegate care to other team members in accordance with their education, credentials, and demonstrated competence
- Promote a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach toward patients, families, and all members of the care delivery team
- Participate in the development of and maintain established hospital policies, procedures, objectives, and quality improvement initiatives
- Float 0–3 times per month as needed; floating from OB is limited to helping hands, sitter/camera watching, or CNA-type work
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license or proof of Alaska license application submitted (pending license accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, NRP
- Willingness to work an equitable number of weekend shifts per schedule period
- Must live more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Two professional references from the past 2 years required; at least one must be from a supervisor (Charge Nurse accepted)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Epic EMR experience, particularly within the last year
- First-time travelers welcome to apply
