Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care to a designated group of patients within the Maternal Child Health department, addressing physical, psychological, emotional, educational, and spiritual needs
Assess patients and families with needs ranging from uncomplicated to highly complex, recognizing normal parameters and deviations using a person-centered care approach
Develop and prioritize care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary health team, addressing both expected and unanticipated needs
Demonstrate critical thinking skills by making appropriate clinical decisions and proactively addressing potential and actual problems
Facilitate linkage of patients and families with other disciplines and services as needed
Float on a rotational basis to other hospital departments outside of Maternal Child Health as required by unit needs
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
Demonstrated Labor and Delivery clinical experience
Ability to work night shifts with flexible scheduling based on unit needs, including weekends with no weekend maximum
Willingness and ability to float to other hospital departments on a rotational basis
Familiarity with governing body standards applicable to Maternal Child Health (AWHONN, ACOG, NNA, AORN)
Preferred Experience / Skills
Postpartum nursing experience
Experience in L&D OR/PACU or NICU settings
Demonstrated ability to serve as a clinical resource to peers
