Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a high-risk perinatal unit including labor and delivery, antepartum, and postpartum settings
- Perform and document sterile vaginal exams (SVE required – hardstop); monitor and interpret fetal monitoring strips in accordance with AWHONN standards
- Staff labor at a 1:1 ratio, antepartum at 1:2–3, and postpartum couplets at 1:3 with CNA support
- Participate in triage coverage alongside skilled RN team in a 7-bay triage area
- Float to Postpartum unit as needed
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team including delivering providers, CRNAs, surgical techs, CNAs, and health unit coordinators available 24/7
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license; compact license must be in hand at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience
- Required certifications: BCLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring or Relias Fetal Monitoring
- Ability to perform sterile vaginal exams (SVE) – this is a hardstop requirement
- Availability to work weekends and commit to 3 of 5 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in a facility handling 200 or more deliveries per year (candidates from facilities with 100–200 deliveries will be considered)
- Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records system
- Experience in a Level II or higher trauma or perinatal care environment
- Prior experience in antepartum or high-risk perinatal care settings
