Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, and implement direct clinical care to assigned patients on a per-shift basis
- Monitor and evaluate patient responses to care interventions throughout the shift
- Supervise clinical staff to whom appropriate patient care tasks have been delegated
- Support facility nursing leadership in maintaining high-quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care
- Ensure competency of clinical staff and appropriate resource management related to patient care
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas or a compact state license that permits practice in Texas
- Clinical experience in Labor and Delivery
- Ability to perform patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Demonstrated ability to delegate and supervise clinical staff appropriately
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in a high-volume Labor and Delivery unit
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems used in acute care settings
- Experience supporting nursing leadership initiatives related to quality and patient safety
