Key Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care to labor, antepartum, mother-baby, newborn, OB/GYN, and NICU patients in a Level 2 maternal/neonatal center
Maintain staffing ratios: Labor 1:1, Postpartum 1:2, NICU 2:1
Administer and titrate drips including glucose, magnesium, pitocin, and insulin
Monitor and interpret electronic fetal monitoring (EFM) at an intermediate or advanced level
Support a unit delivering approximately 50–60 births per month across maternity, nursery, NICU, and C-section suite settings
Document all patient care accurately within the EPIC electronic medical records system
Required Qualifications
Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license at time of submission
Minimum 24 months of current Labor & Delivery (L&D) experience
Travel nursing experience within the last 15 months
Proficiency with EPIC EMR
Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications
Current NRP, Intermediate or Advanced EFM, and STABLE certifications (documents required)
Preferred Experience / Skills
Nursery and/or Mother-Baby experience
NICU experience
Postpartum nursing experience
Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, or director within the past 24 months
