Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to laboring patients throughout the antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum phases
- Monitor maternal and fetal status using electronic fetal monitoring and other assessment tools
- Assist with vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections in collaboration with the obstetric care team
- Administer medications, IV fluids, and oxytocin per physician orders and established protocols
- Educate patients and families on labor progression, delivery expectations, and postpartum care
Required Qualifications
- Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Iowa or compact licensure eligibility
- Current BLS certification
- Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
- Prior clinical experience in Labor and Delivery
Preferred Experience / Skills
- ACLS and/or AWHONN fetal monitoring certification
- Experience with high-risk obstetric patients
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems in a labor and delivery setting
