Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights | 4x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 36 or 48 hours per week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to Labor and Delivery patients, including both low-risk and high-risk (maternal fetal medicine) populations
- Work within a unit that averages approximately 2,000 deliveries annually, utilizing 8 private labor rooms, 4 private triage beds, and 2 OB operating rooms
- Collaborate with certified nurse midwives and maternal fetal medicine specialists to support diverse patient needs
- Cross-train to Mother/Baby unit as expected; may be floated to NICU (feeders/growers) as needed
- Maintain and apply required certifications including BLS, NRP, Fetal Monitoring, and AWHONN Intermediate
- Rotate every other holiday and every other weekend per unit scheduling requirements
Required Qualifications
- Active Virginia RN license (pending license accepted; must be in hand by the Wednesday before start date)
- BLS certification required
- NRP certification required
- Fetal Monitoring certification required
- AWHONN Intermediate certification required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Nursys verification required at time of submission
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
- BSN preferred
- Experience in both low-risk and high-risk obstetric care settings
- Familiarity with Mother/Baby and NICU (feeder/grower) environments
