    Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery

    Location

    Charlottesville, VA | Acute Care

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights | 4x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 36 or 48 hours per week

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct nursing care to Labor and Delivery patients, including both low-risk and high-risk (maternal fetal medicine) populations
    • Work within a unit that averages approximately 2,000 deliveries annually, utilizing 8 private labor rooms, 4 private triage beds, and 2 OB operating rooms
    • Collaborate with certified nurse midwives and maternal fetal medicine specialists to support diverse patient needs
    • Cross-train to Mother/Baby unit as expected; may be floated to NICU (feeders/growers) as needed
    • Maintain and apply required certifications including BLS, NRP, Fetal Monitoring, and AWHONN Intermediate
    • Rotate every other holiday and every other weekend per unit scheduling requirements
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Virginia RN license (pending license accepted; must be in hand by the Wednesday before start date)
    • BLS certification required
    • NRP certification required
    • Fetal Monitoring certification required
    • AWHONN Intermediate certification required
    • Epic EMR experience required
    • Nursys verification required at time of submission
    • Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • BSN preferred
    • Experience in both low-risk and high-risk obstetric care settings
    • Familiarity with Mother/Baby and NICU (feeder/grower) environments
