    Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery (LDRP)

    Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Nights (12-Hour Shifts, 18:45–07:15) | 3x12 | 36 Hours per Week | 13-Week Contract

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide comprehensive nursing care on an LDRP unit, managing both active labor patients and couplet care (mother and newborn) as assigned.
    • Circulate in the OR for cesarean section deliveries and recover post-operative patients in the PACU.
    • Perform antepartum care and procedures including NST, OCT, sterile vaginal exams, triage of obstetrical patients, and use of external and internal fetal monitoring including IUPC.
    • Administer medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate therapy, Prostaglandins, Terbutaline, Antihypertensives, Anticoagulants, and Insulin drips; manage IV therapy and blood product administration.
    • Provide postpartum care including fundus/lochia/perineum assessment, breastfeeding and lactation support, episiotomy/incisional care, and discharge teaching to patients and families.
    • Perform neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring, thermoregulation, cord sample collection, and ID/security banding; provide ongoing newborn assessments including hypoglycemia management and phototherapy.
    Required Qualifications
    • Minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience required; experience in LDRP or couplet care is also required.
    • Must be proficient in both Labor and Delivery and Mother/Baby (couplet care) nursing; ability to manage both patient populations is essential.
    • Competency in IV start and maintenance, peripheral IV care, infusion pumps/drips, phlebotomy, and telemetry monitoring.
    • Experience with L&D management skills including amnioinfusion, hemorrhage/shock response, forceps/vacuum extraction assistance, and high-risk delivery support.
    • Active certifications required: AWHONN Beginner or Intermediate, BCLS, Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM), and NRP.
    • Active NC RN license or valid Compact RN license required (pending license acceptable for submission).
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • ACLS and AWHONN Advanced certifications preferred.
    • Experience with obstetrical triage preferred.
    • Familiarity with EPIC, Pyxis, and SBAR documentation systems preferred.
