Key Responsibilities
- Collect comprehensive patient assessment data and analyze findings to determine diagnoses or clinical issues
- Develop and implement individualized plans of care, identifying expected outcomes and strategies to attain them
- Employ evidence-based strategies to promote patient health and maintain a safe care environment
- Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members in the conduct of nursing practice
- Float to Mother Baby unit and manage couplet care as needed; float to other units as a safety companion when required
- Circulate as required and contribute to the professional development of peers and colleagues
Required Qualifications
- Active Montana Registered Nurse licensure
- American Heart Association BLS certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Provider certification (recertification required every 2 years)
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring Series Certificate of Completion or equivalent AWHONN-approved course (FHM recertification required every 2 years; not required for Lactation RN)
- American Heart Association ACLS certification (not required for Lactation RN)
- Completion of two hours of initial cerebrovascular disease (stroke) education; if serving as Lactation RN, certification in lactation consulting/counseling (CLC or IBCLC) required in lieu of select certifications above
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Minimum of one year of Labor and Delivery nursing experience
- Demonstrated ability to work in a high-acuity, fast-paced clinical environment with sound clinical judgment and professionalism
