Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Every other weekend required (Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday) | Every other holiday required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a 12-bed LDRP unit supporting vaginal and cesarean deliveries, postpartum recovery, and Level II nursery newborn care
- Maintain AWHONN-compliant staffing ratios: 1:1 for active labor, 1:3 for couplet care
- Perform fetal monitoring using the Obix EFM system with Philips monitors
- Support CPAP management in the Level II nursery in collaboration with Respiratory Therapy
- Float hospital-wide as needed to support tasking and team nursing model
- Work within a unit supported by OB techs, unit secretaries, and a charge RN (without patient assignment) on each shift
Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
- Demonstrated clinical skill in Labor and Delivery nursing
- Must pass a drug screen; facility maintains a drug-free campus policy
- Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for standard contract rates
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Proficiency across all LDRP areas including postpartum and nursery care
- Experience with Level II nursery patient populations
- Familiarity with Obix EFM and Philips fetal monitoring systems
- Experience working in high-volume delivery settings (approximately 700 deliveries per year)
