    Job Title

    Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor and Delivery

    Location

    Bloomington, IL | Acute Care – Labor, Delivery, Recovery & Postpartum (LDRP)

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Every other weekend required (Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday) | Every other holiday required

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care in a 12-bed LDRP unit supporting vaginal and cesarean deliveries, postpartum recovery, and Level II nursery newborn care
    • Maintain AWHONN-compliant staffing ratios: 1:1 for active labor, 1:3 for couplet care
    • Perform fetal monitoring using the Obix EFM system with Philips monitors
    • Support CPAP management in the Level II nursery in collaboration with Respiratory Therapy
    • Float hospital-wide as needed to support tasking and team nursing model
    • Work within a unit supported by OB techs, unit secretaries, and a charge RN (without patient assignment) on each shift
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
    • BLS certification required
    • ACLS certification required
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
    • Demonstrated clinical skill in Labor and Delivery nursing
    • Must pass a drug screen; facility maintains a drug-free campus policy
    • Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for standard contract rates
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Proficiency across all LDRP areas including postpartum and nursery care
    • Experience with Level II nursery patient populations
    • Familiarity with Obix EFM and Philips fetal monitoring systems
    • Experience working in high-volume delivery settings (approximately 700 deliveries per year)
