Description:
This position requires a Registered Nurse specialized in Labor and Delivery.
The nurse will float between units as necessary.
Weekend shifts are required.
The expected patient ratios are 1:2 for labor and 1:3 for antepartum.
The nurse must have experience with acute care high-risk Labor and Delivery cases, including complications such as pre-eclampsia, diabetes, and multiple gestations.
Candidates should be proficient in active management of labor patients, including induction and augmentation.
The role includes responsibilities in managing maternal emergencies.
The facility performs 200-300 births per month.
The daily census is around 9 deliveries.
Interdisciplinary support services are available, including phlebotomy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams.
Important skills for this role include the ability to assist with high-risk deliveries and maintain central lines.
Candidates should be prepared to assist with various procedures such as insulin drips, magnesium sulfate, and cerclages.
The nurse will also assist in postpartum care and newborn assessments.
This position may require floating to sister facilities.
Refusal to float may result in the termination of the assignment.
References covering one year of nursing experience are required.
