Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 26 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: 1 Year Minimum License: Compact License Required Certifications: BLS NRP Must-Have: High-risk experience Ability to work in fast-paced, high-acuity environments Description: Locals will receive the same rate. Permanent candidates from other facilities are eligible for a travel contract if separated for at least 3 months. All facilities honor active compact licenses. Experience requirement is 1 year. First timers accepted. Pre-approved time off will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Work every other weekend and holidays as needed. Floating required to postpartum and antepartum. May float to other facilities with mother/baby services. Patient diagnoses include midwifery clients, private OBs, adult recovery services supporting substance recovery, and community care clinics. Experience with electronic fetal monitoring and the EPIC charting system is required. Staffing will follow AWHONN guidelines. The unit is high risk and high volume, with 4 operating rooms. Nurses will function as baby nurses during deliveries and provide continuous care for newborns until transfer to postpartum. Responsibilities include newborn care, eye care, thigh assessments, vitamin K injections, and more. Average daily census is about 15 patients, with 500-600 deliveries per month. The unit has 31 rooms and 31 beds. Schedules are posted every 6 weeks. Preferred certifications include ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, and AWHONN Intermediate. Candidates must circulate and provide newborn care. Floating between nearby facilities may be required. Refusal to float may result in termination of the assignment. All communication devices necessary for duties will be provided by the client at no cost. No direct contact with facility staff unless specified for an agreed-upon interview. Modules are to be completed pre-start and annually. Self-reporting of module time will be documented in transcripts.
