Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 26 weeks Shift: Night 4x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years required, with preference for 5 years in high-risk, high-acuity environments. License: Active compact license required. Certifications: Required certifications include BLS and NRP. Preferred certifications include ACLS and AWHONN Advanced. Must-Have: Candidates must have current supervisory references. Candidates must pass a clinical review. Candidates must be able to circulate and provide newborn care, including eye care and vitamin K injections. Description: Candidates must have experience in a high-risk labor and delivery unit. Preferred candidates will have experience with midwifery clients, private obstetricians, and adult recovery services supporting substance recovery. Experience with electronic fetal monitoring is essential. Candidates will be required to work every other weekend and holidays as needed. Floating to postpartum and antepartum units will be required. Average daily census is approximately 15 patients with 500-600 deliveries per month. There are 31 delivery rooms available. Candidates must be able to function in the role of baby nurse during delivery and continue care of the newborn until transfer to postpartum. Candidates will assist with high-risk deliveries and vaginal deliveries, and will support appropriate care for newborns including assessments and administration of necessary medications. Travelers may be expected to float between nearby facilities. Candidates must commit to working 3 out of 5 holidays. Prior experience in charge roles is beneficial but not mandatory. References covering the last three years of experience are required. Candidates should not reach out directly to facility contacts unless it has been communicated to them. Modules will be completed prior to the start and annually thereafter.
