Description:
This position requires a nurse to float between units as needed.
Some weekend shifts are required.
The expected patient ratios are 1:2 for labor and 1:3 for antepartum.
Special requirements include experience with acute care high-risk labor and delivery, antepartum, pre-eclampsia, diabetes, multiples, VBAC/TOLAC, active management of laboring patients, induction/augmentation, and maternal emergencies.
The facility handles a significant volume of births per year.
It is a short-term acute care facility with a diverse patient population.
Daily census varies, and the facility comprises multiple rooms and beds.
Interdisciplinary support is available, including teams for intravenous therapy, physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services.
The unit handles high-risk maternal-fetal patients and special procedures such as insulin drips, magnesium sulfate, and cerclages.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate competency in emergency situations and various nursing skills pertinent to labor and delivery.
