Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 26 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience required. High-risk experience preferred with a minimum of 3 years. License: Current compact license required. Certifications: Required: BLS, NRP. Preferred: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate. Must-Have: Current supervisory references. Proof of required certifications with submission. Pass clinical review is mandatory. Must have experience circulating and providing newborn care, including administration of eye drops and Vitamin K injections. Description: This role requires the nurse to function in high-risk, high-volume labor and delivery settings. The nurse will care for midwifery clients and private obstetric patients. The average daily census is around 15 patients with 500-600 deliveries per month. The unit is equipped with four operating rooms and has a total of 31 beds. Nurses will be working in fast-paced environments where the ability to handle high acuity cases is critical. The role includes responsibilities such as assisting with high-risk deliveries and providing care for newborns until they are transferred to postpartum. Candidates will float between postpartum and antepartum units, which may include support in nearby facilities. Experience with electronic fetal monitoring is required. The unit adheres to AWHONN guidelines for staffing and patient care protocols. Pre-approved time off will be considered on a case-by-case basis, and flexibility with scheduling is expected, including working every other weekend and holidays as required.
