Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum 2 Years in Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, and Newborn Care License: Compact License Required Certifications: AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, FHM, NRP, ACLS Preferred Must-Have: - Experience in Vaginal Delivery and Cesarean Delivery - Ability to circulate in the OR, start adult IVs, and administer blood/blood products - Proficient with drains, epidural pumps, and PCA pumps Description: The role involves providing care in a Labor and Delivery setting. Responsibilities include assisting with labor and delivery, postpartum care, and newborn care. The nurse will float between different units as needed. Patient diagnoses encompass Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, OB Triage, Antepartum, and Normal Newborn care. Key special procedures include conducting vaginal deliveries and cesarean deliveries. Skills required include administration of blood and blood products, anticoagulation therapy, and antihypertensives. The nurse will assist with high-risk deliveries and maintain lines for medication administration. The patient ratio can vary from 1:1 to 1:3. All submitted candidates must have the required certifications and experience in the specialty. Mandatory holiday coverage includes working three of five major holidays. References are required covering one year of employment within the last three years. Travel nurses may need to float between various facilities within the area as required by staffing needs.
