Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15), every other weekend required (minimum 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule)
Highlights:
- High-volume, fast-paced Birthing Care Unit averaging 400-600 births per month with approximately 20 births in 24 hours
- 2:1 patient ratios with double labor assignments as a daily occurrence
- Contract lengths from 13+ weeks through February 27, 2027
- Epic charting system with 24 hours of orientation provided
- Obstetrical triage unit for screening, antenatal fetal surveillance, and outpatient procedures
- Float requirement to Special Maternity Care high-risk OB unit as needed; no on-call requirement
Requirements:
- Active North Carolina or Compact RN license
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required; 3 years preferred
- Prior experience in high-volume facilities with more than 300 births per month is essential
- Must be skilled in circulating for Cesarean sections, sterile vaginal exams, and immediate newborn care
- Certifications required: BLS, AWHONN Intermediate (or C-EFM accepted), and NRP
- Epic charting experience required
- Must be comfortable with high-acuity, fast-paced environments and double labor assignments
Patient Population & Procedures:
- Care for obstetrical patients 16 weeks and greater for all intrapartum services
- High-risk antepartum and postpartum care, including patients under 16 weeks on the high-risk maternity unit
- Scheduled and unscheduled Cesarean births and rescue cervical cerclage procedures
- Triage of obstetrical patients with approximately 40 visits per day across 20 rooms
