The unit has 8 labor rooms and 4 triage rooms. Responsibilities include circulating for OB-GYN procedures and assisting in post-operative and pre-operative care. The nurse will provide care in a low-risk antepartum and labor and delivery setting. Special procedures performed include blood and blood products administration, cardioversion/defibrillation, and managing epidural pumps and PCA pumps. The nurse will be involved in couplet care, attending all deliveries, including high-risk deliveries. Experience with GYN surgeries and transition nursery care is required. The staffing ratio is between 1:1 to 1:3 depending on patient needs. The candidate may be required to float to post-partum and NICU based on skill set.
