Job Title: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 4x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years in Labor and Delivery License: Valid State License required Certifications: BCLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate or Relias Fetal Monitoring Must-Have: Experience in high-risk perinatal care Ability to float to postpartum unit Experience in facilities handling 100+ deliveries Description: The position is for a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse. Candidates will work in a facility with comprehensive maternity services and a Level II NICU. The unit provides high-risk perinatal care. There are 19 labor and delivery beds, 10 antepartum beds, and 30 postpartum beds. The unit includes 3 operating rooms and 2 recovery areas. Staffing goals aim for a 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio in labor and a 1:3 couplets ratio in postpartum with CNA support. Ideally, candidates should have experience in environments with 200+ deliveries monthly. Candidates should demonstrate skills such as administration of blood products, neonate assessments, and management of high-risk deliveries. Other responsibilities include assisting with vaginal births, cesarean sections, and lactation support. Travelers may be expected to float between nearby facilities as necessary. Candidates should ensure all required certifications are current. Availability for holiday shifts is required as part of the commitment. Flexibility with scheduling is essential for this assignment. References will be required prior to start.
