Start Date: September 21, 2026

Location: North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15), minimum of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule (every other weekend), 13-26 week contract options available

Highlights:

  • High-volume birthing unit with over 300 births per month and an average of 20 births per 24-hour period
  • 2:1 patient ratios with daily double labor assignments in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
  • Comprehensive care including intrapartum, high-risk antepartum and postpartum obstetrical patients (16 weeks and greater), triage, and Cesarean births
  • Epic EMR system with Pyxis medication management and 24-hour orientation provided
  • Float availability required to Special Maternity Care high-risk OB unit as needed; no call requirement
  • Scrubs provided; interdisciplinary support including Pharmacy, Respiratory, PT, Social Services, and Rapid Response Teams

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years Labor & Delivery experience required; 3 years preferred
  • Proven experience in high-volume facilities with 300+ births per month is essential
  • Current BLS, AWHONN Intermediate (or C-EFM), and NRP certifications required
  • Competency in circulating for Cesarean sections, sterile vaginal exams, and immediate newborn care
  • Proficiency with Epic charting system required
  • North Carolina or Compact RN license (pending acceptable at submission)
  • First-time travelers accepted if experienced in similar high-volume settings
  • Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
