Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: CA state license required, pending license not accepted Certifications: ACLS AWHONN Advanced AWHONN Intermediate BLS NRP Must-Have: Previous charge experience preferred Patient ratio experience required Charting system experience required, specifically with Epic Description: This position involves providing nursing care in a labor and delivery setting. The shift will take place during the day, covering 12-hour periods. Candidates must have at least 2 years of experience in labor and delivery. A valid CA state nursing license is required; pending licenses will not be accepted. Certifications in ACLS, AWHONN, BLS, and NRP are necessary. Travelers may be expected to float to different areas as needed. Weekend work will be required, specifically every other weekend. Candidates must be willing to take call depending on patient census. The average daily census in the unit is around 10 patients. Travelers should be prepared to assist with both high-risk and routine deliveries. Supporting lactation and providing post-delivery care are integral tasks. Candidates must have experience in administering medications and managing IV therapy. Knowledge of assessments such as APGAR scores and newborn care is essential. Additional skills in the management of hemorrhage and postpartum care are important.
