They will perform disease prevention and restorative measures. The nurse must be prepared to respond to medical and environmental emergencies. Additional duties include assisting with high-risk deliveries and providing support during labor and delivery. The nurse will also provide education and support to patients and families. They must be skilled in interpreting fetal heart rates and managing complications during labor. Knowledge of various procedures and protocols in labor and delivery is essential. The nurse will need to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for optimal patient care.
