Responsibilities include caring for both the mother and baby, with an average census of 5 couplets, 2 pediatrics, 1 GYN, 2 labor patients, and 4 in the Special Care Nursery. The support staff on the unit includes a ward clerk, CNAs, charge nurses, resource nurses, and LPN scrub nurses. The nurse-to-patient ratio is generally 1:3 for mom/baby couplets, 1:5 for GYN/Med-Surge patients, and 1:3-4 for pediatrics. Equipment utilized in this position includes EPIC One Chart, Omnicell, Philips Vitals Machines, Bladder Scanner, Medula Breast Pumps, Responder 5 Call Light System, and Medfusion Pumps. Candidates must be prepared to assist in filling scheduling vacancies as needed and must be willing to float to Med-Surg and Tele units.
