Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor Delivery Recovery Postpartum Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 48 Experience: One year of nursing experience required License: Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification, ACLS, NRP required Must-Have: - Able to circulate for C-sections - Able to triage for OB Description: Provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards. The Clinical Nurse is responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting. Participates in identifying and meeting learning needs of self. Attends education programs based on identified learning needs. Utilizes patient education materials relevant to patient population with assistance. Assesses readiness to learn of the patient, family, and caregivers. Assesses developmental level of the patient and factors affecting the ability to learn. Identifies expected patient outcomes and seeks guidance as needed in the revision of the plan of care. Participates in discussions with members of the interdisciplinary team in the evaluation of patient care. Communicates relevant information to promote continuity of care. Demonstrates competence in the care of patients with complex problems, including physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects of care. Performs bedside point of care testing as required for the patient care plan. Utilizes nursing standards, policies, and procedures in the delivery of care. Organizes and prioritizes care according to patient and family needs. Consults with appropriate resources in a timely manner regarding patients with complex care issues. Develops goals to promote professional growth or minimize limitations with assistance. Achieves goals and objectives within the identified time frame or renegotiates with the supervisor. Participates in the development and achievement of unit goals and performance improvement activities. Effectively uses communication systems. Participates in promoting cost-effective care. Provides feedback to co-workers. Promotes a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment for all. Recognizes data from complex situations to determine priorities for care. Synthesizes assessment data into a meaningful whole prior to communication to others. Assesses and anticipates discharge needs of individual patients and families.
