Post Partum Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Post Partum Duration: 12 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Hours (19:00 - 07:00) Experience: 2 Years Preferred License: Valid RN License Required Certifications: BLS, FHM, NRP Required Must-Have: - Previous charge experience preferred - Patient ratio experience - Charting system experience preferred (Epic) Description: This position involves providing postpartum care for mothers and their newborns. Candidates must have 2 years of experience in postpartum care. First-time travelers are accepted for this role. Celebrate and support breastfeeding and bonding between mother and baby. Assist with discharge teaching for new parents. Manage medication administration, including antihypertensives and anticoagulation therapy. Conduct assessments on newborns and monitor for any abnormalities. Facilitate pain management for mothers post-delivery. Support the transition of high-risk deliveries in conjunction with the healthcare team. Ensure compliance with facility protocols and patient safety standards. Perform necessary evaluations and assessments to identify complications. Assist in high-risk deliveries and during C-sections as needed. Maintain effective communication and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. Floating to similar units may be required based on facility needs. Travelers will receive a brief orientation upon starting in the unit.
