Description:
The RN in Labor and Delivery will care for patients throughout their childbirth experience.
This includes antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care.
Experience with circulating normal spontaneous vaginal deliveries and C-sections is required.
Flexing to the perinatal unit may be required as needed.
Four weekend shifts (Friday night and/or Saturday night) are required every four-week schedule.
Experience in an academic setting is preferred.
The role requires the administration of blood products, assistance with epidurals, and neonatal resuscitation.
The RN will support patients with breastfeeding, discharge teaching, and care for high-risk deliveries.
The patient ratios for days, nights, and weekends are 1:2.
The unit treats neonates, adolescents, and adults and handles various maternal and fetal conditions.
Candidates must possess strong skills in assessment, critical thinking, and teamwork in a diverse environment.
