Job Title: Labor and Delivery Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Variable shift, 3 mandatory calls in 13 weeks Hours per Shift: Guaranteed 36 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Montana Licensure (Registered Nurse) Certifications: - American Heart Association BLS - Neonatal Resuscitation Program Provider (NRP recertification required every 2 years) - Electronic Fetal Monitoring Series Certificate of Completion (or equivalent AWHONN approved course) (Not required if a Lactation RN) (FHM recertification required every 2 years) - American Heart Association ACLS (Not required if a Lactation RN) - Certification in lactation consulting/counseling (if Lactation RN: CLC, IBCLC) Must-Have: - Must be able to circulate. - Must be willing to float to Mother Baby and take couplets. - Must be willing to float to other units as a safety companion. Description: The Registered Nurse works in a collaborative and cooperative relationship with other members of the healthcare team. The nurse plans and implements patient and family education. Responsible for assessing the needs and initiating appropriate interventions for patients. Demonstrates sound judgment, patience, and maintains a professional demeanor at all times. Ability to work in a busy and stressful environment. Involves creativity, problem analysis, and decision-making. Ability to work varied shifts. Regular and sustained attendance is required. Position may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts. On-call work may be required to respond promptly to organizational, patient, or employee needs.
