**Key Responsibilities:**
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Deliver direct patient care across the lifespan while promoting optimal health outcomes.
- Provide clear, culturally sensitive education to patients and families.
- Direct and supervise licensed practical nurses, nursing assistants, and ancillary personnel.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the broader care team.
- Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
- Float to other departments as needed, with appropriate orientation and training.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support hospital operations and patient needs.
**General Qualifications:**
- Current New Mexico RN license or active Multi-State Compact (eNLC) license.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification from the American Heart Association (or equivalent).
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to deliver compassionate, culturally competent care to patients of all ages.
- Strong team player with flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to professional growth and lifelong learning.
**Physical, Environmental & Psychological Considerations:**
- Frequent exposure to bloodborne pathogens, body fluids, infectious diseases, and biohazardous materials.
- Work primarily in a temperature-controlled hospital setting with occasional exposure to varied sounds and odors.
- Must be physically able to lift, position, and transfer patients using proper body mechanics and assistive equipment.
- Ability to work effectively under stress, respond calmly to emergencies, and maintain strong problem-solving skills.
**Department-Specific Qualifications (LDRP):**
- Current BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring required.
- OPS Emergency Workshop and STABLE certification required within 12 months.
- Skilled in all aspects of perinatal care, labor support, delivery, and newborn assessment.
- Knowledge of sterile technique and sterile field maintenance is essential.
