Job Title: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: 2 years minimum in Labor and Delivery License: Valid state license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate required, AWHONN Advanced preferred Must-Have: Must be able to circulate. Must be able to perform sterile vaginal exams. Description: The position is for a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery. Experience in large hospital settings is highly preferred. Candidates must be able to circulate in the operating room. They should possess the ability to perform sterile vaginal exams. This role may require working weekends and the weekend shifts may exceed every other weekend to accommodate unit needs. Scheduling requests due to outside employment will not be considered. Travel pairs will not be considered. This is a high-risk unit that cares for various pregnancy diagnoses including preterm labor, hypertension, multiples, pre-eclampsia/eclampsia, and fetal anomalies. Candidates must have experience with cesarean sections, D&C, cerclage, and vaginal deliveries. Additional skills required include assisting with high-risk deliveries, managing insulin drips, and recognizing and treating abnormal fetal heart rate patterns. Candidates will need to be proficient in the use of external fetal monitoring. Travelers may be expected to float to nearby facilities if required. Refusal to float may result in termination of assignment. All requests for time off and scheduling adjustments must be made upfront during the application process.
