Key Responsibilities

• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for Labor and Delivery patients
• Evaluates health status through ongoing collection and assessment of health data
• Performs health teaching, health counseling, and supportive or restorative therapy and treatment
• Executes delegated medical functions and refers patients as needed for further evaluation or treatment
• Reviews and monitors therapy and treatment plans; documents in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines
• May be required to float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications, and may be placed on-call during regularly scheduled shifts

Required Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing (ASN minimum)
• Current Registered Nurse license in the state of practice
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association
• ACLS, NRP, and/or PALS as appropriate for the unit or service

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous experience as a Registered Nurse
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Unit or service-appropriate specialty certification
