- Experience with neonatal resuscitation
Description:
This position requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery.
Candidates must have completed at least one assignment in a facility of similar size and acuity.
The unit experiences an average of 1800 deliveries per year.
Nurses will typically manage 4 scheduled events daily, including C-sections and other procedures.
The unit consists of multiple labor rooms, triage rooms, and postpartum areas.
Patient types include various complications such as gestational diabetes, pre-eclampsia, and fetal loss.
Ratios include 1:1 for cervical ripening and active labor, with a postpartum couplet ratio of 3:1.
The role requires skills in fetal monitoring, lactation support, and skin-to-skin protocols.
Nurses will assist with various tasks, including emergency care during deliveries and monitoring newborns.
Support staff includes a charge nurse available 24/7 and an in-house trauma team.
Technology used includes a comprehensive EMR system and fetal monitoring systems.
Floating may occur to other areas including postpartum and antepartum.
This role includes holiday rotation and weekend shifts.
Nurses are provided with scrubs and required to wear street clothes when arriving and leaving.
