Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years required. License: Pending licenses accepted. Certifications: BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate required. Must-Have: - Previous charge experience. - Experience with the Epic charting system. - Ability to float to Mother/Baby and NICU (feeders/growers). - Skills in labor and delivery, postpartum hemorrhage recognition, and management. Description: Cross-posting for this position is available. This position requires clinical review and an auto offer. The contract duration is for 13 weeks. Expected to work nights for either 36 or 48 hours per week. Candidates must possess certifications in BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate. Expected to cross-train to Mother/Baby and may be floated to NICU (feeders/growers). Can submit with a pending state license. Time off will be approved for 40 hours. Every other holiday and every other weekend are required. The average number of deliveries annually is approximately 2000. There are 8 private labor rooms and 4 private triage beds. The unit includes 2 OB operating rooms. Both low-risk and high-risk patient populations are served. High-risk patients may include those with maternal-fetal medicine needs. The patient ratios for days and nights range from 1-2. Weekends will have the same patient ratio. Floating within the scope of practice is expected as needed. Standard skills needed include assessing abnormal fetal heart rate patterns and attending cesarean sections. Additional responsibilities include labor and delivery duties, postpartum care, and providing neonatal resuscitation. The facility supports interdisciplinary collaboration from various support teams. Patient demographics include neonates and adults with diagnoses such as gestational diabetes, preclampsia, and high-risk pregnancies. Procedures include cesarean sections, cerclage, and bilateral tubal ligation. Nurses will handle routine care for stable feeder and grower infants in the NICU. Recognizing changes in infant condition and communicating concerns is crucial. Special equipment may be utilized for patient transfers and other procedures. Candidates must be prepared for floating within their scope of practice as necessary. Education requirements prefer applicants with a Bachelor's degree in nursing. Modules will be included to enhance the candidate's knowledge.
