Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, NRP, BLS Must-Have: LDRP experience, couplet care, circulate in OR Description: Hiring process will include candidate interview and an interview with the clinical team. There is no involvement from unit management in the interview process. Candidates must be within a 60-mile radius. Candidates must submit their driver's license. RNs will need to float between various units as necessary. The unit has 12 LDRP rooms and 12 postpartum beds. Typically, there is one birth per day, averaging 50-60 births per month. The unit follows AWHONN guidelines for nurse-to-patient ratios. RNs are required to circulate in the OR for C-sections. RNs will need to titrate medications, including pitocin. The charge nurse typically has an assignment. There is one surgical tech available on the unit. An OB/Neonatologist is not available in-house 24/7. Anesthesia is not available in-house 24/7. There is no respiratory therapy equipment on the unit. RNs are not required to read telemetry strips; however, fetal monitoring is necessary. The fetal monitoring system in use is GE and OBIX. Scheduling will prioritize filling current holes, with options to group or separate shifts based on preferences. There is a weekend requirement every other week. There is a call or standby requirement as outlined by policy. RNs are expected to adhere to a professional dress code for scrubs. Nursing orientation will take place over 1-2 shifts. The cancellation policy allows the hospital to cancel a specified number of shifts per assignment length. Charting will be performed using the EPIC system. A BSN degree is not required for this position. This position operates within an acute care setting. The trauma level for the unit is classified as level 3.
