- 1 year of specialty experience within the last 3 years
- 1 year of travel experience is highly preferred
- Must have experience in Labor and Delivery or Postpartum
Description:
Unit consists of 15 Labor and Delivery beds and newly open dedicated postpartum unit.
There are 2 OR suites for C-Sections and 3 triage beds.
The unit averages approximately 100 deliveries per month.
Ratios followed are Labor 1:1-2, Postpartum 1:1-4, and Triage 1:1-3.
If performing the transition role, one RN will transition and one will care for the mother.
Common duties include triage, labor, antepartum, postpartum care, and acting as the circulator in the OR.
Preferred experience includes transitioning newborns, but it is not required.
Occasional care for post-op hysterectomies may be necessary.
RNs who can float throughout the LDRP area are preferred, but RNs dedicated to specific specialties can be hired.
24/7 scrub techs are available for C-sections within the unit.
The electronic fetal monitoring system used is EPIC + OBIX.
There is a call requirement of 2-12 hour shifts per month.
If the RN is low censused, they will remain on call and must be available to come in as needed.
The hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts during the 13-week assignment.
Charting is conducted using the EPIC system.
